VENUE CHANGED FROM HILL COUNTRY TO MIGHTY QUINN’S

Boys, girls and sometimes brats…
It’s a ripe time to continue our summer blockbuster BBQ Smackdown. Part deux is Mighty Quinn’s.

The Food (From Mighty Quinn’s Website)
“Mighty Quinnʼs barbeque is the merging of two great barbecue traditions: Texas and the Carolinas. It brings together the best of both and creates something uniquely its own…Texalina Barbeque. The process begins with the best, all-natural meats and poultry, seasoned with perfect spice blends and then smoked with wood for many, many hours until the perfect harmony of smoke, flavor and time emerges. Our food is steeped in tradition but given new life.”

Tweet Dat

Hey so I thought it would be fun to try a little experiment and see how things work out. It seems that we often have trouble coordinating who’s going to be at NAFA and when. This isn’t so much of a concern for the foil fencers, but for the saberists and epeeists out there it’s usually not any fun to go to NAFA only to find out that there’s no one there to fence. Or even worse, showing up and leaving only to find out that people you could have fenced showed up later. So in the interest of better communication and just to see what will happen I thought it would be a good idea to create a twitter hashtag so that people can communicate better and use for updates.

From Wikipedia.com
“… commonly a Japanese type of skewered chicken. The term “yakitori” can also refer to skewered food in general. Kushiyaki (skewer grilled), is a formal term that encompasses both poultry and non-poultry items, skewered and grilled. Both yakitori and kushiyaki mean the same, so the terms are used interchangeably in Japanese society.”

Next Friday, June 7th, we will be dining at Yakitori Taisho in the East Village. Leave a comment if you’re interested in attending.
